Dear S.R. and Possible Readers,

The truth is... I don't cook. Living alone and general laziness stop me from cooking consistently. The last time I cooked was when S.R. and Ian came over. That was AGES ago. As an alternative, I will stay true to form. Instead of copy pasting a recipe from Food Network and pretending it's mine, I have come up with a list of my top grubs in the New York City in no particular order.

Jane Restaurant in West Village - Brunch there is phenomenal and their homemade truffle oil gnocchi is to die for. If you are brunching it there, order the Bloody Mary!
Delta Grill in Hell's Kitchen - Their jambalaya is unbelievably spicy but so true to the Southern spirit.
Tre in Lower East Side - Drink some of their amazing sangria while eating their al dente pasta.
Mermaid Oyster Bar in St. Marks, West Village, and Upper West Side - Slurp some Blue Point oysters while eating their bacon fried brussels sprouts. You can't go wrong.
S'Mac in East Village - Different types of mac and cheese? Don't mind if I do!
Sweet Afton in Astoria - Indulge in some pickle backs (my favorite) with some fried pickles.
William Hallet in Astoria - Crabcake eggs benedict? It's like the melding of two awesome things. Four words...party in your mouth.
La Flor in Woodside - YOU MUST TRY THEIR RIBS! It melts in your mouth.
Coffee Shop in Union Square - If you like your Caesar Salad with pickled anchovies, you've come to the right spot.
Ippudo on 4th Ave and 10th Street - Their amazing broth (miso and pork based) coupled with their house made noodles are a sure hit in any frigid day. Try their hamachi. It might be thicker cut but the fish is amazing in quality.
Ajisen Ramen - This is another good go to noodle place. I've never been disappointed.
One if by Land Two if by Sea - Beef Wellington was so 80's but the 80's are making a comeback!
Red Rooster in Harlem - Multicultural food never tasted so good.
Pio Pio in Jackson Heights - Their Peruvian chicken...mmmm.....
Salumeria Rosi in Upper West Side - Italian tapas at its best. Try the vanilla gelato with candied pancetta.
Calexico in Greenpoint - Try their fish tacos. You won't regret it.
Cookshop in Chelsea - Huevos rancheros anyone?
Les Enfants Terribles in Lower East Side - They have good Moroccan global eclectic food.
Kinshop in West Village - The thai food is to "thai" for.
Sripapai in Woodside - The Thai food there is a straight up "Thai" with Kinshop.
Tournesol in LIC - The French food straight up makes you think you're munching escargot in some Parisian bistro.

Alright, that's all she wrote. I could go on forever but this is as good as it gets.

Love,
Joanne
